NDIS Clay Play - 6 Week Handbuilding Course

A six week handbuilding course for NDIS participants in a small group in the Northern Rivers. 

Art therapy for NDIS participants looking to expand their physical, social and artistic skills. Participants sign up for a term of six weeks. Each session is three hours and includes lunch, as well as materials and firings. The groups are kept small, with a maximum of four participants per session. We teach the three basic handbuilding methods, and then let participants creativity flow, or guide them through the steps of creating their own vessel. Over the six weeks, participants learn how to slab roll flatware, the coil method, and the pinch pot method. They are taught attaching handles and finally glazing. Pieces are ready for pickup 4-6 weeks after the final session.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own support person if needed, as well as messy clothes and drinking water.
